Teen Critically Injured When Bicycle Goes Under Truck

A Shorewood High School student in Washington State was struck by a semi and his bike became stuck under the truck. Witnesses say that the boy was drug about 30 to 40 feet. As you can see in the picture the underside of the semi truck is wide open and very dangerous. These are the areas where side guards must be installed to prevent future accidents like this from happening. There is a good chance that if there was a side guard installed that the young boy would have been blocked from going under the vehicle.
